On November 22, the Hong Kong Children's hospital project, jointly constructed by CSCEC Ruian, won the 2016 new building category Excellence Award of Hong Kong Environmental Architecture Award.
The biennial "Green Building Award" is jointly established by the Hong Kong Green Building Council and the green building professional council. It aims to recognize the outstanding performance and contribution of construction projects to sustainable development and building environment.
The Hong Kong Children's hospital is located on the South apron of Kai Tak yuan and the Bank of Kwun Tong typhoon shelter in Kowloon City, Hong Kong. It covers an area of 21684 square meters and has a building area of about 152700 square meters. It consists of two 11 storey independent buildings, a central courtyard, a basement and related facilities. It provides 468 beds. The project started in August 2013, is expected to be completed in 2017, and will be put into operation in phases in 2018. Hong Kong Children's hospital will become the first children's specialist treatment center in Hong Kong and one of the most advanced children's specialist treatment centers in Asia.
